John Pleasants leaves EA

John Pleasants, of recent Battlefield 3 leakage fame will be replaced by John Schappert. Pleasants is leaving EA for a position at Playdom, a Myspace and Facebook game developer.

This news comes from UK's The Register, which released an article focusing on the incomming ex-Microsoftee Shapperts, rather than the exiting Pleasants.

Would the news spread by Pleasants be a cause for dismissal of Battlefield fans, if Karl-Magnus Troedsson did not confirm the existence of Battlefield 3?

"I've had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product," he said. "Of course, that's not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good."

Executive producer, Karl-Magnus Troedsson, confirmed his superiors statements on the existence of Battlefield 3 on his twitter account. Apart from the confirmation, Troedsson had no other comments to add.
